Continuing the Reformation Also Means Preaching Against Quack Evangelical Pastors

It's so easy to heckle on Roman Catholic priests and similar cultists but hard to acknowledge that Evangelical circles aren't free of wolves in sheep's clothing. What I thought about is how often you may think that a certain pastor is a man of God but he's just as much as a wolf in sheep's clothing as the Roman Catholic priests. Just because a person claims to be a pastor doesn't mean he's a man of God.

Should it be mentioned Jeremiah has condemned irresponsible pastors or shepherds with how they carry their jobs? Read them at Jeremiah 10:21, 12:10, 22:2, 23:1-2 and you'll find out the kind of pastors God hates. Jeremiah 3:15 has God promising to give pastors who will give understanding. The problem is that there are so many pastors who aren't even men of God. They are pastors by profession but they are not pastors in God's eyes. This is a warning to Christians that just because a pastor by profession doesn't mean the person is a man of God. There's the warning that Jesus said in Matthew 7:16-20. False prophets are known by their fruits and Jesus told His followers to be fruit inspectors. If you think fruits don't matter as proof of genuine conversion then something is wrong with your thinking.

What should be very disheartening is when you've got pastors who are wolves in sheep's clothing. A Roman Catholic priest is an obvious wolf to the born again Christian. The Mormon missionary is an obvious wolf to the born again Christian. But here's a guy you think is a man of God. He's not a Charismatic pastor and he supposedly belongs to various Christian denominations. He may be a Baptist pastor or a Protestant pastor. But when you approach him you might find him teaching a lot of stuff that's contrary to the Bible. He shows fruits that are not of the Holy Spirit but fruits of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-26). He teaches a lot of false doctrine such as the doctrine of the perpetually carnal Christian, he may be teaching prosperity gospel, teaches that homosexuality is a-OK or he may be living a sexually immoral life (ex. womanizing, homosexual preachers, "Baptist" churches that host homosexual weddings) which is a mark of being unsaved (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

It's hypocritical to keep criticizing Roman Catholicism for sexually immoral priests all the while one ignores quack pastors are doing similar stuff. I've read of reports of both Roman Catholic priests and quack pastors who are involved with many sexual acts. What's worse is that some "Baptist" churches end up to be no better than the Roman Catholic parishes as one sexual scandal after the other is covered. What should be shocking is that some fundamentalist Baptist churches are headed by questionable pastors. I even feel like telling such people they have lost their right to criticize the Roman Catholic priest for pedophilia if their pastor is guilty of the same charge.

What should also be not so shocking is that many quack pastors also openly work with the Vatican. When I found out that certain pastors who had financial scandals and habitual adulteries were in line with the Vatican I wasn't surprised. I even heard that Martin Luther King Jr. was also sexually immoral aside from the obvious fact he was pro-Roman Catholic. Many prosperity gospel preachers are also in line with Rome. It shouldn't be surprising God has declared his fury against pastors who have destroyed the vineyard and the flock. They are in an unequal yoke that has left the flock in confusion and heartbroken states.

Any true pastor who is devoted to God's work should preach against quack evangelical pastors and their crooked theology. This is risky because many of these quack preachers are popular with the world but God calls for it. The prophets were called to attack false prophets. The pastor of God is called also to attack false pastors. Sometimes, naming names is necessary to warn the flock. I remembered how John F. MacArthur and Paul David Washer end up naming names like the late Robert Schuller (the preacher of the self-esteem theology) or Joel Osteen. I even remembered how Rob Bell had to be mentioned for claiming to be Evangelical but denies a literal Hell. It doesn't matter how popular they are but God's standard never changes with the world.
