Testimony of Pastor William Murray

I was born into a home of near constant rage and violence. My mother never married my father or my brother's father. As a result of my mother's constant angry outbursts she could not hold down a job and she, my brother and I lived with her parents and my unmarried uncle in a small row house in Baltimore, Maryland.

My grandfather had never filed an income tax return and most of what he did do during his life was illegal or ill advised. He had no savings. My grandmother read Tarot cards and sent out demons by burning human hair. My uncle kept hoards of pornography in his room and my mother filled the house with statues of mating animals which she worshipped.

My mother accepted the communist doctrine when I was about ten years old and from that time on there were socialist and communist study group meetings in the basement of our Baltimore home.

I was taught that because there was not God there was no such thing as right or wrong. My mother told me it was better to be a homosexual than to be a Christian. She taught me that the most important things in life were the physical pleasures of drink, food and sex.

For many years I lived the life I was taught. I drank a quart of vodka a day and by the time I was thirty I had been married twice. I lived only to eat, drink and have what I thought were sexual pleasures.

But a time came when the women and the booze no longer gave me the happiness that my atheist mother told me they would bring. I was consuming so much alcohol that it no longer got me high. I started using marijuana and other drugs to supplement the alcohol which had betrayed me.

At age thirty I began to realize how empty my life had been. There were no people in my life. My only friends were cigarettes and booze. It was that realization that led me on my search for God. I had seen every evil in the world and now wanted to see the other side of life..

I turned to a Twelve Step Program to stop the drinking and there found my first awareness of a loving God. Yet that God had no name.

In a novel, I read the story of the great physician, Luke, and I yearned to have the relationship and love of God this man had, but I did not know how to reach God.

On January 25, 1980, as I slept in my apartment in San Francisco, the Holy Spirit came upon me and directed me to seek the truth in the Holy Bible. This was the one place I had never looked for the nature of God, for it was this very book that my mother had removed from our nation's schools by her lawsuit in 1963.

Now awakened by the call of God I drove to a downtown discount department store and there found a Bible under stacks of pornography. The gay checkout clerk laughed at me for buying a Bible.

But, it was in this Bible that I found the truth about Jesus Christ. The truth that sets every man free. That truth is that Jesus had paid the price for my sin so I could be reborn and be a new man and have the gift of eternal life. I learned that this gift was mine for the asking. All I had to do was repent of my sins and ask Christ into my life as Lord!

My life began again when I accepted Christ into my life. Your life can begin again as did mine. Just say this simple salvation prayer (and mean it with all your heart):

"My Father in heaven. I repent of my sins and ask your forgiveness. I believe Christ died as a sacrifice to pay for my sins. I want to be born again and become a new creature in Christ. I now ask Jesus into my heart as my Lord with the promise of living for Him."

Once you have said this prayer cast all the sinful things out of your house and your life. Call a church at once and tell the minister about your decision to follow Jesus. Attend church the very next possible service.

Continue the Reformation Through Expository Preaching

It's not merely enough to protest against Rome. There are many who protest against Rome who are just as heretical as Rome. What's not too surprising is to find some "Baptist" preachers who reject the badly needed art of expository preaching. Why do we need expository preaching? To know why we need it we must first define it.

Defining expository preaching

This is what the book "By the Book: The Whys and Hows of Biblical Preaching" would define expository preaching:
Expository preaching. When the main theme, its main points and further development of the points of the points or sub-points are all derived from the content, context and structural flow of a longer text in Scripture. This is popular when expounding paragraphs, stanzas, and chapters of a book and especially when doing a series of preaching from a book. (p. 45)
Here is the definition from Got Questions on "What is expository preaching?":
Expository preaching involves the exposition, or co…

Continuing the Reformation Also Means Preaching Against Quack Evangelical Pastors

It's so easy to heckle on Roman Catholic priests and similar cultists but hard to acknowledge that Evangelical circles aren't free of wolves in sheep's clothing. What I thought about is how often you may think that a certain pastor is a man of God but he's just as much as a wolf in sheep's clothing as the Roman Catholic priests. Just because a person claims to be a pastor doesn't mean he's a man of God.

Should it be mentioned Jeremiah has condemned irresponsible pastors or shepherds with how they carry their jobs? Read them at Jeremiah 10:21, 12:10, 22:2, 23:1-2 and you'll find out the kind of pastors God hates. Jeremiah 3:15 has God promising to give pastors who will give understanding. The problem is that there are so many pastors who aren't even men of God. They are pastors by profession but they are not pastors in God's eyes. This is a warning to Christians that just because a pastor by profession doesn't mean the person is a man of God.…

Granting Roman Catholic Priests Immunity From the Law is Not Taught in the Bible

The Roman Catholic institution's history is one full of dirt. Roman Catholic priests may have the tendency to think that they are exempted from following secular laws especially if they're in a predominantly Roman Catholic country. Why do these priests think they have immunity? Here's some reasons that I think may explain why they believe that some may call as "priestly immunity". It's because they teach that they save the souls of people through the sacraments which they believe are Peter's keys. If you've got people believing that the priest is "another Christ" then you've got them afraid for their lives and that the priests may condemn certain people to Hell as they please.

But does the Bible really grant priestly immunity? Not if you continue reading through the Old Testament. Although both the Jewish Temple and the monarchy were to work side by side but it didn't mean that the priests had any immunity. One good example is the pr…

What's Wrong with the Ang Dating Daan Movement?

The Ang Dating Daan movement is by the Members Church of God International spearheaded by its pastor (and so-called "prophet") Eliseo Soriano.  While claiming to be an expositor of the Scriptures with his "Itanong Mo Kay Soriano" or "Ask Soriano" In English, this religious group actually isn't Christian as some of the ignorant would want to believe.  Though the group claims the Bible is their only authority (as some cults do) but the problem is that they believe only Eli Soriano may interpret the Scriptures.  This is utter heresy!  Not even a great man in the Scriptures, Charles Spurgeon ever made such a preposterous claim!  This is no better than the "true church" movement by Darwin Fish which is exposed by Pastor Phil Johnson as a heretical movement.  In fact, I'm not going to waste my time debating with ADD members, they are a total waste of my time as every other debate.
Unlike John F. Macarthur of Grace to You that actually encoura…

What Does Pisseth Against the Wall Mean?

It's really getting bad for some of my Independent Fundamental Baptist brethren to actually even take the words "pisseth against the wall" which appears at least six times in 1 Samuel 23:22, 1 Samuel 25:34, 1 Kings 14:10, 1 Kings 16:11, 1 Kings 21:21 and 2 Kings 9:8 where the King James actually has the words "pisseth against the wall".  Now I am a King James only-ist but I do not support the stupid interpretation of "pisseth against the wall" by some IFB preachers who have become in some way similar to the Catholic Faith Defenders that they argue against when they should spend their time soulwinning.  Actually I even heard that rather outrageous "pisseth against the wall" sermon by Steven Anderson that was so taken out of context.
So what does pisseth against the wall mean? Let us take a look at these six verses and take it on a exegetic view NOT an eisegetic (out of context) view:
1 Samuel 23:22- "And so more also do God unto the ene…

Continue the Reformation By Having Serious Bible Studies

As the 500th Anniversary of the start of the Reformation happens this month it's very important to remember to study the Bible. What launched the Reformation was because of the Bible. The late William Tyndale translated the Bible into English and the late Martin Luther translated it into German. Many Bible-believing Christians prior to the Protestant Reformation were condemned by the Roman Catholic institution for giving copies of the Bible. The record also shows how many Baptists were put to death before the Reformation for sharing the Bible to Roman Catholics so they will learn the truth.

What was in the Bible that Rome feared and said that only the "infallible" council of the Pope and his cardinals are allowed to read it during the Dark Ages? The late Popes Leo XIII and Pius IV said that Bible reading at the hands of the layman will do more harm than good. It's a common tactic to say that reading the Bible for yourself will drive you crazy. To make sure that this…

Plenty of Today's Churches Need a Radical Reformation Against Easy "Christianity"!

Whenever it's the Reformation, it's easy to think about Martin Luther's protest against the Roman Catholic institution. It's easy to think about fighting the Great Whore of Revelation. Here's the question that I'd want to raise, "Do you realize that we're also having churches plagued with easy believism or easy Christianity?" Easy believism is a term that's so easily confused. Some may think that they're easy believists but they reject any notion that a person can get saved and sin all they want. The real easy believists are those who believe that they can be saved and still remain the same. If Rome's doctrine of salvation by works is a sure road to Hell then so is Antinomianism.
It's a common problem today in many churches that they uphold the heresy of easy prayerism. They teach a distorted picture of once saved always saved. Once saved always saved is biblical but we must emphasize on the characteristics of those who are truly …
