Religious Relativism Debunked

There is the huge mistake when people are told, "Well we must accept all religions as true and what is right and wrong must be dictated by the religions people practice."  However is it really possible to just let people determine right and wrong based on religion?  The answer is no.  As usual, the Bible is clear that every tradition, practice, doctrine and moral laws of the church are based on God's Law, not man's laws.  Men makes their own rules mostly for their own convenience, God made His rules for the good of mankind.  There is a big difference between the two.

Truth must always be intolerant to whatever cannot agree with it.  Just as said, if one religion is right, the other has to be wrong.  If Islam is the truth, every other religion should be a lie.  If Buddhism is the truth, every other religion should be a lie.  You can't really have them coexisting as one common doctrine because PLENTY of their doctrines clash with one another. Again, confusion is wrecked!

So here's some fictitious, somewhat funny but realistic examples to show the flaws of religious relativism:

The situation has it where a Muslim, a Roman Catholic and a Buddhist go together.  They were to eat out and it was Ash Wednesday.  So each one took their beliefs (as taught by their religious leaders) seriously about dietary laws and violating them would make them unholy.  They went to a buffet.  The Roman Catholic got fish, the Buddhist got pork and the Muslim got beef.  Just then, they sat on the same table and were starting to feel uncomfortable with each other, seeing each one as offensive.

There was a bombing incident against a Baptist church.  The police had caught the Muslim terrorists when a Christian pastor reported the incident that killed at least 3/4 of his congregation and made him lose his parents, wife and children as well.  Just then the judge said, "So you have any reason why you ordered the suicide bombing incident downtown?"  The mastermind said, "Your honor here's a copy of the Koran.  I would like everybody to open to Quran 2:191..." then he proceeds to open the Koran to other verses that justify their terrorist doctrine through and through and sadly MOST Muslims don't even realize that.  After a verdict based on religious relativism, the judge chose to let the terrorists go free so they could practice what Allah tells them to do.

Another- a group of explorers (insert religions whatever you may please) went into South America to do a documentary on the rain forest.  Just then the cannibals who were worshiping their false god had caught them and had caged them.  They are about to be cooked for dinner as part of a religious ritual.  One of the explorers said, "Hey what's the purpose of cooking us up?  Does your religion teach you to do so?"  The cannibal chieftain said, "Why yes of course.  Unless our tribe eats human flesh whenever an outsider comes, we become unholy and our god Rogadeobobo demands it as part of our faith."  "Wait, our religion teaches that cannibalism is wrong." said one of the explorers.  "Not in ours it is..." said the chieftain while sprinkling lemon juice and pepper on the explorers they captured for extra flavor "...so enjoy it while you can because we're about to have you for barbeque tonight and we'll be serving your ribs as spare ribs."  Then he calls for the cook to cook the explorers.   So in short, cannibalism is right only if you worship certain gods and wrong if you don't worship these gods.
