A Christian's Anger is NOT Sin

Here's a big extreme heresy going on that there are unrestrained hippies who teach that anger is a sin.  Here's what- anger is NOT a sin.  For a reality, Ephesians 4:26 says, "Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:" proving that anger is NOT a sin.

Some things that should be taken note of:
  • Christians because of their state of being once saved, always saved meaning that the effects of salvation are never lost like a new attitude towards sin, will always be ANGRY with sin even against their own doings because they failed God and they want what is right to prevail.  Christians do not expect to be happy with sins especially if they're the ones who committed it.  David was upset about his whole affair with Bathsheba.  Solomon was upset about how he wasted the wealth God entrusted to Him.  Peter was upset with his cowardice when he denied his Christianity.
  • In a world of sinful men, God does not expect Christians to rejoice at the sinfulness of this current world.  Lot was upset with the people of Sodom.  Noah was upset with how the world was.   The prophets and the apostles were upset as well.   Ephesians 2:10 says that Christians are saved without works to serve and not to sin.  Titus 2:11-15 teaches that God's grace and salvation results to resisting ungodliness in the present world.  Christians today must be upset over idolatrous processions and the legalization of several sins like divorce, fornication, adultery and pornography to name a few.
  • However, anger can result to sin if left unchecked.  An example of this is when Peter in his anger smote off the ear of a guard or the believers in Corinth were suing each other.  Christians will always be good fruit bearers but the problem is that some are inconsistently bearing fruit because of the cares of the world.  Christians can take the wrong actions against the wrongs of this world if they don't take it up to God.

So what can be done?
  • Christians should remember to let God work in them (Philippians 2:12-13).  They are weak in the flesh and will fall into sin if they rely on the flesh.  Remember it's God grace that gives power against sin.
  • Take the problem to God.  No problem for God is too big or too small.  Remember- if God saved men despite their total depravity according to His righteous standards and it was IMPOSSIBLE for them to save themselves, He can save a Christian too from their sins (Matthew 1:21) meaning NO BAD HABIT is too powerful.
